FreightCar America, Inc. Appoints Two DirectorsFreightCar America, Inc. (NASDAQ:RAIL) announced today that at a meeting of the Company's board of directors on December 6, 2005, Thomas M. Fitzpatrick and Thomas A. Madden were elected as new independent directors of the Company to fill vacancies on the board. Mr. Fitzpatrick was appointed to the corporate governance and nominating committee and the compensation committee. Mr. Madden was appointed to the audit committee and the compensation committee. Mr. Fitzpatrick is the managing partner of Chicago-based Fitzpatrick Law Offices, a business law firm. He is also managing director of 2200 Ventures LLC, a venture management and investment firm serving clients domestically and internationally. Mr. Fitzpatrick has a B.A. from Yale University and a J.D. from New York University Law School Mr. Madden is the retired executive vice president and chief financial officer of Ingram Micro Inc. He currently serves on the board of directors of Mindspeed Technologies, and is on the audit committee of the University of California - Irvine Foundation. In addition he is a full time instructor in the University of California - Irvine's Graduate School of Management. Mr. Madden has a bachelor's in business administration from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and an M.B.A. from University of Pittsburgh. FreightCar America, Inc. manufactures railroad freight cars, with particular expertise in coal-carrying railcars. In addition to coal cars, FreightCar America designs and builds flat cars, mill gondola cars, intermodal cars, coil steel cars and motor vehicle carriers. It is headquartered in Chicago, Illinois and has manufacturing facilities in Danville, Illinois; Roanoke, Virginia; and Johnstown, Pennsylvania.
