Theodore W. Baun has rejoined FreightCar America, Inc. (NASDAQ:RAIL) as vice president,
sales -- western region. A Johnstown, Penn.,
native, Baun has a B.S. in Business Economics and
an M.B.A. from the University of Pittsburgh,
and began his business career with FreightCar America's
predecessor company. Ted resides in Gurnee, Ill.,
with his wife, Maureen, and three children. His office will be at the FreightCar America headquarters in Chicago.
Timothy D. Johnson, currently vice president, sales -- western region,
will transition into the position of vice president, sales -- northern
region, replacing Gary B. Sornsen, who will retire
on January 6, 2006. Gary
joined FreightCar America's
predecessor company in December 1992. Prior to then, his extensive career in
the transportation industry included managerial positions at Olin, Cargill,
Pillsbury, Pullman Leasing and Itel Rail. Gary and
his wife, Linda, reside in Eden Prairie, Minn.
Edward J. Whalen, senior vice president, marketing and sales, said,
"We are extremely pleased to have Ted back, particularly with his strong
background of industry and company experience. We thank Gary
for his important contributions to the success of our company and wish him
many years of happiness in his retirement. We are confident that Tim will be
a capable replacement for Gary."
FreightCar America, Inc. manufactures railroad
freight cars, with particular expertise in coal-carrying railcars. In
addition to coal cars, FreightCar America
designs and builds flat cars, mill gondola cars, intermodal
cars, coil steel cars and motor vehicle carriers. It is headquartered in Chicago,
Ill., and has manufacturing facilities in
Danville, Ill.,
Roanoke, Va.,
and Johnstown, Penn.
